The 49 Cafe is a decent sandwich, pastry & pasta cafe with a few tables, very near the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury.
A proper independent coffee shop in London but without the eye-watering prices. Great coffee, lovely staff, nice layout, plenty tables and a nice line in pastries. Absolutely excellent. I hope it lasts.
Food / others ****
Small but with lots of seats – many outside on the pedestrian walkway – this little cafe is one of many on Sicilian Avenue. Sandwiches and salads are available and the staff are friendly and efficient.
Coffee *** (Lavazza, well made)
£1.90 (drink in is pricey, but you are 5 minutes from the British Museum)
